Ideahubs to help Advance Collaboration

To build a Digital T&T, it takes many hands and many partners. On Thursday 17 March, 2022, at a ceremony at the Auditorium, Government Campus Plaza, leading global ICT company, Huawei Technologies, donated twenty-two (22) Ideahub devices to the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) for use in the Public Service of Trinidad and Tobago.

Representatives of the recipient Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) were on hand to receive the ultramodern intelligent Video Conferencing devices – branded Ideahubs. The hubs were distributed via the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT) and the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT).

Public-private partnerships are a key facet of the Digital Agenda of Trinidad and Tobago – helping the government to break down silos – across sectors, across Ministries and across cultures. In his remarks at the Ceremony, Minister of Digital Transformation, Senator the Honourable Hassel Bacchus, thanked Huawei for their continuous contributions to the Caribbean Telecommunications sector. Speaking on the benefits of the donation to the public services, he acknowledged that “all of the recipients here today will now have an opportunity to advance collaboration across and within their Ministries, Departments and Agencies as they practice new ways; of dreaming a new future for our Public Service; of swiftly turning ideas created during strategy sessions into actions and enriching the decision-making process with this remarkable tool”.
